Content of the Course

The objectives of this course include:

1. Personal Survival Techniques (PST): To train seafarers in essential survival practices including survival at sea, emergency procedures, evacuation methods, survival craft operation, and use of lifesaving appliances.

2. Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF): To educate seafarers in the basic fire prevention techniques and the basic firefighting procedures. This includes the use of various types of fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment, as well as the knowledge of the ship's firefighting and fire detection systems.

3. Elementary First Aid (EFA): To provide basic knowledge and skills to apply immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness onboard.

4. Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR): To familiarize crew members with the safe practices to be followed onboard ships, the working environment, the safe working practices, and the ways in which they must effectively comply with relevant regulations and protective measures for the maritime environment.

5. Security Awareness Training (SAT): To ensure that those who are employed or engaged on board ship without designated security duties are aware of the security threats and emergencies, the procedures to follow during a security threat, and the various security measures implemented on ships.
